Why Concrete Faux Rock and not Real Rock or Concrete Block?
As beautiful as real rock can be, they are very time consuming to install, therefore needing lots of labor cost. Individual rocks in dry stacked walls and sometimes mortared rock walls can come loose and fall out over time. Weeds and unwanted rodents can find homes in real rock walls reducing their beauty. Faux rock walls can be installed in less than 25% the time it takes for real rock wall installs cutting labor costs.

Concrete block walls take less time to install than real rock walls, but they are flexible walls meaning they can eventually heave in areas producing a wavy look if not installed correctly. They also do not add that natural beauty which we all enjoy so much. Concrete blocks can also erode from salts over time and if it gets to bad, leaving a costly repair and rebuild as the entire wall needs to be broken down. If you wanted a concrete block wall to be installed over 5' high, the contractor needs to excavate another 3-5' behind the wall to lay out Geo Grid which keeps the wall from getting pushed out from the hydraulic forces that will be produced behind the wall.

Our artificial rock process allows us to build walls that are much more durable.

 - NO falling rocks (Retaining & Garden Walls)
 - NO loose mortar joints
 - NO need for costly rebuilding of rock or block walls (Retaining & Garden Walls)
 - NO reinforcement grids needed (Retaining Walls)
 - NO additional unnecessary excavation behind the wall (Retaining & Garden Walls)
 - NO weeds between the rocks
 - NO holes between the rocks for rodents to live
 - NO Random settling areas for puddles and dangerous ices patches to form
 - NO heaving (Retaining & Garden Walls)

Most of all, 75% labor cost savings!

How durable is your product?
Comparing strength, our faux rock concrete walls are much stronger and can withstand a hit from a car, truck or tree while only suffering from minor repairable blemishes without falling to pieces like real rock or concrete block which would need days or weeks of rebuilding.

How long does the finish last?
On our faux rock walls, the finish will last for many years. So far we have seen them last over 15 years and counting without any blemishes or fading. walkways, patios and stairs may need to be resealed after 3-7 years depending on foot traffic and rock type wanted. The actual acid stained concrete color will not suffer from foot traffic.

How much labor does it take to put in a faux rock wall?
Our unique process allows us to put up our faux rock walls with only less than 25% of the labor it takes to install real rock walls and less than 40% of the labor it takes to put up a concrete block wall. This can save you thousands when dealing with large retainer walls.

Example, we poured a 150' long, 3' high wall in Two days. We then colored and sealed the wall in one day. So it took only from the time of the pour to the finished wall, only 2 DAYS!

This wall would have taken at least 2 weeks to install if done with real rock.

How much labor does it take to install a faux flag stone walkways?
Compared to a concrete paver or real flag stone walkway, we can save you over 80% of labor cost.

What types of stone can you make?
Large Granite slabs, Field Stone boulders, Flag Stone, Pennsylvania Dry Stack, Small Stacked Granite Slabs, Granite Boulders, Granite Veneer, Flag Stone Veneer and more. We can incorporate lots of different color combinations so whether you want north eastern rocks or a mid western red rock we can make it happen.

Do we need to worry about cracks
When we pour flat work such as patios and walkways, we install control joints between the faux stones to control where cracks occur. We can not guarantee no cracks as heaving under the flat work will occur. Cracks do not harm the durability of our work as we use internal reinforcement and design the patio or walkway around the possibility of cracks.
